Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 10, 2026

This policy describes the data BlackCat processes when you use local bookkeeping, permissions, sync, backup, speech, exchange-rate, and public-sharing features, why it is processed, and the controls available to you. Merely opening the app does not enable optional data transfers.

Data stored on your device

Ledgers, accounts, transactions, budgets, assets, subscriptions, tags, notes, settings, and local images remain on your device by default. Unless you actively use a sync, sharing, or network feature described here, the operator does not receive the complete financial database. The current app has no ads, does not track across apps, and does not access an advertising identifier.

Device permissions

Camera and photos create asset icons or select attachments; microphone and speech recognition support voice entry; Face ID or other biometrics unlock the app; notifications deliver reminders you enable. Permissions are requested only for the relevant feature and can be withdrawn in system settings. The operating system manages biometric templates; the app receives only an authentication result and does not read or store templates.

Sync, backup, and sharing

When you enable iCloud or WebDAV, selected data is sent to your Apple account or specified server; WebDAV credentials are kept in secure system storage. You choose where manual backups are stored. Sharing a category scheme uploads its names, structure, icons, selected images, and necessary technical data to create a public link that recipients may view or forward. Do not share sensitive information. Request removal through the App Support page.

Speech and network services

Voice entry may use an on-device model or the system speech service, which may process audio or transcripts depending on device, language, and settings. Model downloads, public exchange-rate updates, and share-service access may let providers process an IP address, request time, device network information, and service logs. The app does not intentionally attach the complete financial database to those requests.

Retention, deletion, and security

Local data remains until you delete it, restore another backup, or uninstall the app. You and the relevant provider control iCloud and WebDAV data. Public-share content is retained while needed to provide the share link and valid removal requests are handled under applicable rules. The app uses measures such as secure system storage and encrypted backups, but no software or network can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights, children, and policy changes

You can view, modify, or delete local data in the app and can use the App Support page to request access to, correction of, or deletion of data controlled by the operator. The app is not directed to children; guardians can contact us if they believe a child submitted personal information. Material policy changes will show a new effective date and be communicated reasonably.
